Do you have the qualifications it takes to operate a home business
You are ready, you think, to start making money from home. You are fed up with your job and you think this is your time.
It may very well be the right time for you to embark on the adventure of your life. Because make no bones about it, if you start a home business, your life is about to change!
So the first thing you have to be willing to do to success in your own business is facing reality. No offense intended but the majority of people who start a business fail. They fail because they forgot the reality check.
The first thing to realize and you must believe it as you must believe in yourself is that today's technology and use of personal computers have made a lot easier to work from home and succeed. You can earn extra income either as a part time business or even full time according to your needs and abilities.
As you go through my list I only ask that you do so with both an open mind, and honesty. Your success could very well depend on how truthful you are when evaluating yourself. Get use to that, as a business owner you will not have the luxury to paint a prettier picture than it is. You will need to be brutally honest about your bottom line, what you can and cannot do.
Here we go! Here is the list!
- Are you Goal oriented? Will you be able to set goals and pursue them to their conclusion? Only if you know where you want to go, and plan the way to get there will you succeed. Imagine going to a town you have never visited, to buy a car and not knowing where you want to go, not having a map, How likely are you to find the car you want. Yes you might stumble on a dealership, yes you might find a car but your success was not assured at the onset. Goal setting is what gives the map to reach what you want. Two goals you should set to begin with: How much additional money do you want to earn? How much time will you be spending on this venture, once a week, everyday.
- Do you have the skills needed to do the job you propose to do? If not can you acquire them? How long will take? Will it cost money and can you afford the training? Analyze your strengths, see what skills you have that are marketable, if you enjoy using these skills, either as a hobbyist or in your present job, you may already have all you need to get started.
- Do you have the courage to start? I know I just told you to analyze but I don't mean you should get stuck there. Your home business will go nowhere unless you get started. That requires courage.
- Have a plan to market your new business. Contact your local chamber of commerce, they have ideas and helpful information. Make contacts in you business community. Ask questions to see how others did it, then make your plan and implement it.
- Are you self motivated? Can you work without someone checking on you, on your progress? You will be the only person that can make you work, stay on track and persevere to reach the goals you have set.
If you have answered my questions honestly, then you know if you are ready to start a home business or not.
If you have these qualifications, you will enjoy great success, if not I think you should look at getting the qualifications before starting. Remember that any skill can be learned.
